So went to my local Petco to pick up some fish food and I see this Gold Maxima clam for $30. I was like "so cheap" but the color isn't popping that much. I already have a deresea clam and a blue maxima. Should I get a third clam in my 60-gallon??

Can I also get a picture of other people's gold maxima clam to convince me to get this clam?

If you want it. Get it. Can't really see the pic but it's your choice. It's usually a get it when you see it on deals because most of the time it's gone when you make up your mind. At least for me it is. Lol. Good luck.

I am always running out of room in my tank. I don’t want to put things in there that I don’t like. If you like it, then get it.

You guys are so lucky. Can’t get a clam for less then $250 in Canada.

If you are already successful with your other clams, I think you should get it just to keep it from being an impulse buy for someone who doesn't know what they are getting into. $30 is too cheap to provide a significant enough hurdle to do the research into what you are getting.

You could always re-home it someday to another reefer if necessary.

went in there this morning but it was gone. Local Petco usually gets clam regularly so ill get it next time it is in stock.

Too bad that you missed it. But, there will be more in the future
This is another of my T. noae. This blue color Noae clam is rare IMO. Ian on the hunt for a really nice and unusual Maxima.

I stopped by Ali's place (Amazing Aquariums & Reefs) in Anaheim today and he had some awesome maximas from ORA and from Australia. There was a nice green ORA maxima that I wanted that had a very cool pattern/color mix, but the Aussie clams were super cool. Ali told me that they were listed as squamosa, but once you saw the mantles, it was pretty clear they were maximas. The colors on those clams were very unique, they had pastel purple spots/blotches, etc... I may have to sell some jawbreakers to finance one of those clams. I didn't take any pics, I was too busy admiring them all.
