Should I give an acid bath?

I bought a few pounds of rocks to put in my 5 gallon tank and I was just wondering if I should give them an acid bath or not. They have never been used in another tank.

I don't have a popular opinion, but if you want less rock, give them an acid bath!

Otherwise, get them in a tub or tank of saltwater to start to cure, and see what kind of phosphates and nitrates they put out.

I may be wrong but I don't see why you would have to. I just dropped my dry rock right in.
