when I bought these I paid no more than $500 per. now.........

Additionally you will want to consider the necessary O2 exchange that will need to occur in the tank. I had a Clownfish go tile surfing a while back. If you want to go with a top, recommend the short glass lid or egg crate.
Hmmm... The factory glass top can have the center panel removed... that might solve the heat issues and reduce the escape route if I have some small glass cut fillers cut for the edges... that would create a center slot for heat escape and light penetration.

Now I'm really depressed.

It Will a mixed tank, mostly coral and a pair of clowns that I have in quarantine for the last 3 weeks. I may transfer a coral beauty from another tank, eventually a few mandarins.

Mandarins are notorious jumpers... so lid it is.

Choosing to use a lid or not depends on the livestock like everyone else was saying. If you want a lid, a mesh top would be a good one to use.

For ATO, Tunze 3155 is really great.

Only Gibson I ever had was the Blueshawk.. Loved that thing. Oh and it was blue! I built a nocaster.. used the Texas Tele's -- Maroon with gold trimmings.. Had to dump the ashtray though.. WAY too much feedback.. Its how I learned to not set my wrist on the strings.. eventually. Still cant play for crap and Arthurwritus is a bummer. I have a Taylor Jumbo I like to play around on.. but even that is now tough.. sooo.. Reefing it is..!

They are? I guess I never really considered them great threats to jump, like say a DWG or wrasse. Any fish can jump when startled, but Mandarins are generally such slow moving grazers.

Yeah they are deceiving little buggers...like to jump out at night....more so when they are first added.

From reading this forum, I have seen that nearly anything and everything can and will make a jump.......
better safe then sorry.
