No, I'm not crazy. I'm setting up a copper-free QT for inverts and corals. Meanwhile, I managed to get ich in my DT. I was going to accelerate cycling the new invert QT by adding filter media from my DT. But obviously now that means putting ich in my new invert QT.
In theory, that won't matter. The invert QT will never have fish and nothing will go from it to the DT for at least 45 days, plus a week or two to get it cycled and initially stocked. So the ich should all die before going back into my DT. Which already has it in the first place anyway.
Is there anything I'm not thinking about? Any reason not to use filter media from my DT to cycle the new invert QT?
