Okay I do not know what to do about this SPS frag.
My question is; if a frag has algae around it and didn’t base enough, do I cut the base and let it encrust? Or is it fine the way it is?
This is the only frag that concerns me in tank and I may be at fault for overfeeding my tangs who stopped grazing as frequently as result.
My parameters are stable and in my comfort range. Intense lighting matched by strong flow.
All SPS encrusted and shooting up; just this frag who didn’t encrust and started growing upward.
What do you guys suggest?
Thanks!

It's funny how many different approaches people take. I'll offer up another. I'd remove the frag from the base and clean up as much algae as possible...while keeping the frag under water in a separate container to prevent the algae from going back into the tank. I would not use H2O2 because you will certainly damage tissue to an already delicate frag. Mount the frag to a new plug or directly to rockwork. My .02 and YMMV. Hope it thrives! :)
