Did you mean to strike out your post since you already had an answer? Or was that a mistake?

Take out carbon and GFO.
You can use filter floss.

Okay thats what i did and after an hour of looking on google what most people said to do. I had a lot of white particles in my water beofre installing the filter floss. After i added my custom caddy with filter floss, the water became clear in an hour. How often should i change the floss? Thank you!

Your filter should include a biological filtration alongside mechanical filtration.

Floss can be both. However we tend to use floss as a mechanical fitration (debris). For mech filter you can change every 2-3 days or even a week if it's not clogged. Floss is cheap, instead of cleaning a used floss why not just use the new one.

And now with bio filtration, you can use seachem matrix or equivalent to fill up carbon chamber and gfo chamber. It's best if you use a media pouch for those seachem matrix. With time, those bio media would be filled up with beneficial bacteria to help tank wirh biological waste (nutrients). Don't take these bio media out of water, just change the floss on the top most chamber.

To add more bio filtration you could add some marine rock in tank also sand.
