Should I move a coral if it's growing nicely?

I put a SPS frag in my tank on a makeshift frag rack (just a flat rock mid way in my tank). Since then it has really started growing and encrusting the frag it on.
I'm almost afraid to move it to where I want it to be because is was a pretty expensive piece and where I was going to put it is higher in the tank.

There is an old saying..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it" that may apply here! If you can find a way to live with it where it is, I would do so. But this is just one persons opinion and I'm sure others will vary.

I think you're right...I wouldn't have noticed but I cut away most of the plug and it is really growing down the sides of it nicely!

I recently lost some nice frags over night for an unknown reason so I'm not chancing it

I agree with this another option is break off an encrusted piece place it where you want and see how it does. If it does fine then just leave it and take the othet frag to the frag rack for a grow out piece
