Is it okay if my Kenya Tree and mushroom frag touch? (I think the frag is a mushroom)

Kenya trees tend to grow really, really fast...

If the mushroom is not mounted, you might want to... Although mushrooms are pretty hardy, and tend to grow and populate fast, too.

You should see how small this Kenya Tree was when I got it 3 weeks ago. I had also multiplied since then.

The mushroom is on a frag plug wedged between two rocks. Is that what you mean by mounted?

Your other coral is a chalice; not a mushroom. They won't get along.

Well that's helpful info. I moved him earlier this morning. I will post pictures of my other new frags later to make sure they are what I think they are.

Kudos to you @CodyRVA . I got these Kenya Tree for free from a guy on Craigslist he warned me that they spread like weeds which is why there were free :). They were a great first coral, gave me confidence to actually spend money on some.

Kill the Kenya it will take over

I've read a few threads about the benefits of Xenia, curious if Kenya would apply, but it was in regards to the usefulness of their ability to absorb/utilize excessive elements which may irritate stony corals. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but makes me wonder if moving my Xenia "forest" to the sump would be more ideal as a means of "filtration."

Guys my chalice is starting to turn white. I put it in the sand this morning but should I put it in the shade also?

How high up in the tank was it when it turned white? It really depends on your lights, but I always start my chalices off in the sand bed and in the shade, and inch them out into more light until i see bleaching. This is how i find the range of each chalice and I then know where I can and can't mount the frag.
