Should I move my favia or let it be?

I got a new favia on Thursday—it's a small colony—and placed it near my large hairy mushroom coral (my mistake). The mushroom has worn a small bald patch where the two meet, but they both look otherwise happy. I was going to just leave the favia since the damage is already done and let it grow up and away from the mushroom since there's room. Is it stupid to leave the corals near each other for the sake of the favia beyond the current damage? My real reason for wanting to leave it is that the current spot is the most ideal for the favia as far as available room in my tank. I just don't want it to get too stressed and die completely.

I attached a photo of the damage—the mushroom expands and lays on that portion of its neighbor.

IMHO - move it. While you're correct - it probably will grow away from the mushroom - the mushroom can also grow bigger. I dont think you have to move it immediately - you can always watch - but IME - when you have damage caused by 'anything' it can allow disease to affect the coral. I also don't think you would have to move it 'far' away

I think I'll either move it or create some sort of barrier with a thin piece of spare rock tonight. I'd hate to see the favia die when I can try to help it out.
