There is a very small tube that comes out of a rock now and then and appears to be... well, spewing his business about. It comes out white and strung together but quickly breaks apart and is all over in the water until it either settles or goes in back chambers.
What could this possibly be and how do I stop it ?

My BioCube is 6 weeks in... Diatoms came and went, now experiencing a small algae bloom of sorts with what appears to be small plants swaying in the current. Turbo snails are now in place and quickly getting to work on that.. But this other thing and the spewage... HELP

It could be a vermetid snail. Fairly harmless, although they are messy. I have a bunch of large ones which hitch hiked on some new corals and rocks (with polyps) I just added... You can leave them or crush them. If you crush them, something will eat the bits left over (or you missed and they will rebuild). Apparently they thrive in tanks that have poor water quality. I am hoping the few large ones I picked up will die off eventually...

I know what little hole he's in, so yes I will try to plug that hole. Need to get some AquaStick or the like soon! I only have super glue...

Ive been trying to poke in the hole of the rock that has the squirting problem with a paper clip. Trying to crush whatever is in there that is making such a mess. I guess this is a spawning event? Anybody else have any ideas? Its a thin stream of white that shoots into the tank from the smallest hole, then it breaks up and is then small white specs floating all over the tank. I hope to get some aqua stick tomorrow but would still like to know what the heck this is ! Its so crazy... Thanks for any help..

Yes that's what I have done in the past. Just know the second you touch water the glue will want to dry so go fast.

That is what those are. I have like two or three in the tank for about a year. They came in as hitchhikers. Thank you all

that was awesome, I'm new to the reef tank world. Its stuff like this that i love the life in a tank is simply amazing
