I have a chunk of GSP I got from someone who was giving away some. They had a bunch of bubble algae and other stuff in their tank (nothing that I didn’t have already) and now the GSP is slowly starting to not open as much and not be as vibrant. It’s covered in bubble algae and other pests and I need to give it a dip and a scrub. Should I peroxide dip, revive dip, or something else?
Here are some pictures of it gradually closing. The last one is now.

I would pull that rock out and remove as much of the bubble algae as you can manually. Then take a q-tip, small brush, or spray bottle and put peroxide onto all of the exposed rock to knock back any remaining algae. Let it sit for a minute or two, rinse in tank water (in a separate container to discard) and put back in the tank. If the GSP are still not opening well in a week or so, try revive dip.

outside of the tank pluck the bubble algae off. then try to inject hydrogen peroxide with a plastic syringe. or get an emerald crab?
Ok. I recently added an emerald crab. I feel like I need to go ahead im and dip before things get even worse, but he’ll be good for clearing any that comes up in the future

forgot to mention that the GSP is not encrusted to the rock. It was a loose sheet they gave me and I just placed it on the rock. Should I still do the q tip thing you’re saying or can/should I dip the colony.

GSP is incredibly resilient (some say pest like!) dipping it in 50/50 of tank water and h202 might make it close for a day or so but it'll survive. The algae will not. If you dunk the whole rock chunk in it'll wipe out ANYTHING on it, including any biofilm and coralline keeping algae off it, so you may just open your rock up for colonization. It'll def. kill it though. I h202 a lot of plugs. Never had an issue. I wouldn't dip an acro though, but almost everything else is "fine".
