I have a firefish goby that is acting sluggish. Was in it's side. I thought maybe sleeping so I bumped it with the net. It moved out. But it's not it's usual lively self like it was yesterday. More sluggish with short bursts of movement. I realize I forgot to feed it yesterday. (I've been ill.)
It was a little more active after eating. The light is on a timer (6hrs on) and was on.

I added copper power on Friday. Hanna checker tested at 1.98ppm on Friday and 1.97ppm today.

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Salinity 1.023 - a little low but not low enough I want to chance changing salinity and stressing the fish more. It's not hypo level so I don't think it would make the copper toxic.

I have not added prime.

What do you all think? Pull the copper or wait and see in case it was just the missed meal?

Guessing something else is going on. I don’t see copper as a likely culprit but it’s certainly possible. I always stay the course because I can’t do anything with a fish that’s not parasite-free anyway :/

Well, he was dead this morning when I got up. I'm about done with QT. It just seems to just kill my fish. I have better luck not preventative medicating.

My lfs says they don't use copper treatment on goby fish as they tend to not do well with it. They treat their other fish for a week.

Ok. After some research, I added the copper too fast. I should have added the copper over 3 or more days. I really hope that is all I missed. I'll give it another go.

With fish that are more sensitive you may have a better success rate slowly ramping up the copper over a few days. Spreading the doses 2-3 times per day. You may also try to lower your target to 1.75ppm.
