So I have two different zoa frags and they both have two different things growing next to them that I have no idea what they are. Should I attempt to scrape them off? Will they over run the zoas or harm them in anyway?

First Zoa - Growing to the right of the zoas.

Second Zoa - Kind of hard to see but growing at the stem. Also there is one on the other side.

First looks like feather worms. Leave them... they’ll be fine. :)

The second one is really hard to see but it almost looks like it could be Aptasia. If it is, get it out of there as fast as you can. It will take over. A better picture in white light would really be helpful. :)

Sympodium could be pretty, dont discard it. Break off the part of the plug that has it and glue it on an isolated rock, there you go, free coral.

So as far as the blue gloves I think i'll end up breaking the part of the frag they are on and move them else where. As far as the second one everyone seems to agree that it is aptasia.. which kind of sucks b/c I just took those guys off a frag plug yesterday and put them on this frag plug... I thought I had scrapped them off yesterday but I guess I totally scrapped something else off. They were near impossible to see because when i took the frag out of the water they shrunk in and I could not tell where they were on the frag =\. If I do decide to inject them with kalk is it going to hurt the zoas b/c these things are pretty much growing out of the base of the zoas.

It might. I’ve done superglue up close on coral before to kill them. Works if you have a steady hand. Might want to try that first before kalk.

I think i might try this because I have super glue on hand and don't have any kalk.

Also thank you everyone for the replies and sorry for the dirt poor pictures =\.

Your welcome, by the way, nice zoas.

Thanks just got them yesterday and when I saw the other stuff on it I was like oh boy... I never had any really bad pest in my tank before (granted its only 4 month old tank and I am very new to this hobby) but have seen and heard of some really nasty pest that can follow in. Didn't realize that aptasia could survive a Bayer dip.

Be care with clove polyps, they are very invasive.

For sure I may stick em next to the green star polyp island rock I have lol.
