I dosed approximately 1/2 fl oz thus morning for an approximately 1.0 ppm concentration. I plan on increasing it each day by 0.5 ppm until it is 2.5 ppm. I did a 25% water change this evening, so would it hurt to dose 1/8 fl oz?

I have a Hanna copper checker. I just tested it, and it only dropped to 0.8 ppm after the water change. It is my understanding that, if conducting water changes, the copper should be added to the new water before it is added to the tank.
It won't matter now but once you're at therapeutic levels you don't want it to drop.
Are you testing the concentration (or will you be) or just relying on the volume to be correct?
Just to clarify the only reason I am dosing incrementally is because I am quarantining a Melenarus wrasse and I read that wrasses can be more sensitive to copper. It is my understanding that, if conducting water changes, the copper should be added to the new water before it is added to the tank.
