Every now and then my LFS decides to purchase Crinoids (Feather Stars) I usually buy all of them but I think i'm a little overrun as I own 3 now. So my LFS got a beautiful Green and Orange one that has been there for 3 weeks so far, First week looked amazing and now it literally has little to no feeding arms left. The question is should I buy the Crinoid ($24) or just let the poor fellow die

(EDIT: I will be telling the LFS owners to stop buying them)

I like the idea of saving it...but it depends on how much time you have for caring for them. It's a lot of work keeping them fed.

Is there a local public aquarium nearby, save it see if will take a donation once its recovered?

I never knew such a creature even existed so I just watched some videos. Magnificent! I hope they make it.

I didn't make it in time.. Poor thing was gone all that was left was a central disk with no feeder arms, I was going to take chances with the central disk but they wanted $20 for it
