Should I support the stand?

Sorry for asking so many questions! I want to make sure I Do things right the first time around, lol.

I bought this Aqueon Pine stand, it was in my price range and only one locally that I liked. 48x18 inch stand for my 75 gallon reef-ready tank.

The top is all open, the tank sits on its rims, nothing supporting the glass under. I was wondering if I should fit a piece of plywood or something under for more support? I know it's "Designed" for aquarium use, but makes me nervous. Debating if I should add 2x4 on the inside for more support too. What do you think?

You're fine. A standard glass 75 rests on the outside edges of the tank....the plastic frame. You don't need to do anything but get that tank set up!

Most traditional tanks glass bottom dont touch the stand. It's not like flush with bottom of the rim.
So adding a 2x4 isnt going to support the glass, if that is what your thinking.

My Q about this tank is...sump? be sure you have room for one....big enough to support a 75 gal tank.
EVEN if you arnt thinking about adding it right this second, your likely to want one at some point. (I know cause I just made my little(bigger) brother and hubby) move my tank cause I make that mistake, tank stand to low for anything but some weird $$$$$ custom tank oops... So had to empty everything out just about...and put in a new stand. Every single kitchen pot I owned had LR, corals, fish or new water in it. Lucky I didnt mess anything up doing this I could have. Big Oops...

@Untamedrose raises a good point....fitting the sump. I believe the idea sump is a 40 B, and I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get that through the front doors. So add you sump through the top before you set the tank.....done! Just make sure you can fit your skimmer in and out of the sump with the tank in place.

RE Sump- the inside of the stand fits 16"x46".. I am going to build my own sump and fit the biggest I can in there. The back is all open, so I can slide a sump in there. I want to get the sump built first before I fill the tank with water!
40 gal breeder is too big (it's 18' deep). I need to find the size that would fit. Ideally, I'd like to build my own
It's either going to be 20 long, or if I can find a 37 somewhere..

I was going to say a 40b is to big to fit under a 75. It barely fits under my 48" X 24" 150. I had to place the sump then place the stand over the sump to make it fit.

thank you I was looking at that and 37 would fit.. but I am not sure where I can find one. it's an odd size

EDIT: 38 would be better.
