What are you trying to achieve? Getting better coralline growth?

Why pay something that may or may not work, when it’s free??

I dose Kent marine purple in order to boost coraline , it’s really just a alk/cal dose with some trace elements

Well purple up is for introducing coralline algae into your tank, it’s not something you dose for corals or inverts lol

Check and post your params first, then we can better answer. Purple up will help if the elements it doses is low in yourbtank - alk, ca, mag, etc..

But generally its better to dose those parameters individually to better finetune and control the levels

FWIW, the primary ingredient in Purple Up is just fine aragonite sand that does nothing for soluble calcium or alkalinity. It may, however, give false high readings for each if the suspended particles are still in the water at testing.

It may possibly promote the growth of coralline on the bare calcium carbonate surfaces of the particulates dosed, and some of those may happen to land where you want coralline to grow. That is the only mechanism that I've ever heard as a plausible explanation for the positive results that some folks claim.
