Picked up a reefer 250 from a fellow club member last weekend. Currently refinishing the stand and hope to have it done tomorrow. Ill be moving stuff from my current 60 cube over. I also have all his live rock in a tub with a heater and power heads. Problem is I leave next saturday and will be out of town till the following friday. Should I wait till I get back to move everything over? Ill have to completely tear down my cube first as the reefer is going in its exact spot.

Defintly wait!!!
Setting up a new system could have some new quirks that your gonna wanna be around for.

Plus will give you more time to cycle that rock in the barrels.

If you want to give your coming reef a fair chance and a calm week for you - wait - if you want to waiting for the 19th nervous breakdown for at least a week - make the move tomorrow:p.

Sincerely Lasse

Why would you not wait?..... unless you're in a race with prize money.

I know youre excited and amped to go.... but you need your eyes on a new tank setup.

Go have fun for that week. Coming back gives you that project to look forward to.

Was anxious because Ive been having issues in my 60 cube I have not figured out (made another post about it havnt gotten a lot of feedback). Didnt know if the rock would be fine in a tote for a couple weeks. Theres snails, hermits and some corals on the rocks.

Waiting would be prudent, but you do have almost a full week to evaluate if you can get everything set up in a day. I wouldnt be able to wait.

Wait, you will not be able to relax thinking your tank is failing somehow. I just swapped from a 120 to a 180 and I had some anxious moments while I was at work and I was only gone about 9 hours at a time.
