Should my in-tank UV (auqa shield) be bubbling?

Hey guys! My UV has been running for about 7 hours now to combat dinos and the chamber with the UV is bubbling.

Any idea what’s happening? Thanks!

Was it designed with an air intake to suck air into the impellor? If not it should not be bubbling and I'd worry about a faulty UV.

it’s the most low tech option available lol. It’s designed for water to flow through it without any pumps
