I’ll be placing an order for some Tropic Arden Reefflakes, but I’ve never seen it in person. I’ve read great things about it around the forums, however, but there doesn’t seem to be many videos that cover it.

Does anyone that has had experience with this sand recommend rinsing it?

Yes, I rinsed my TE Reefflakes four about 20 minutes until rinse water was basically clear. Very glad i rinsed it... you will see how much dirty dust comes off it during those first few rinses.

I used a large tote and a garden hose with a strong sprayer attachment.

You should rinse all new substrate very well. My 1 exception is real live sand, I would not rinse since it would kill all the good critters in the sand. Any dry sand or old sand being reused should be rinsed untik the water is clear.
