Wanted to give a shout out and big thank you to Dr. Reef Quarantined Fish! I placed an order several weeks ago for three wrasse which arrived yesterday:
Golden Rhomboidalis (female)
Hooded Flame Fairy (female)
McCoskers

They came in great health and got situated into the tank quickly and all three ate on the first day. Got a couple pictures at first light this morning. Couldn’t be happier!

Nice looking crew! I have a flame hawk and orange stripe Randal's goby set to arrive Friday from Dr Reef.

You have me all excited now.

Glad to hear this I plan to put an order in at the end of the month
Thanks! I was a bit nervous since this was my first time ordering through them but everything went really smoothly and everyone seems happy, at least so far

Good to know I want to get a pair of clowns it’ll be my first also so this helps me feel better thanks :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

How did you acclimate?
They give a pretty detailed procedure on their website but I floated for 30min to stabilize the temperature and then drip acclimated in a bucket for 45min. Every 10min or so I would remove excess water from the bucket. Once salinity was matched I added them into the tank with the lights off. Left the lights off for several hours until they started to swim around freely and eventually turned on the lights at a reduced power for the remained of the day.

I’ve never understood the floating part of the process. If you float the bag to bring it up to temp and after move it to a bucket to drip it will start to cool off. After 45 minutes of dripping you have used the tank waters to bring the qt water to an equilibrium.

I float my bags for a bit also. The only reason I really do it is because I shoot prime into the bag with a syringe. I figure the bags can float while I fill the syringe and inject each bag.

I think my biggest issue with drip acclimation is the ammonia part I usually float and every 10 mins add tank water remove and put more I never liked drip method but if I get fish from them I’m following to a T lol

Yeah that exact thought has crossed my mind before as well. I got lucky and it was 78 yesterday where I live so I was able to have the windows open and not worry about the temp much!
