Pretty much finished up stocking the 40 breeder. Looking to add one more fish in the future. Something interesting. Something that will stand out and make people say "wow thats cool"

tank is a mixed reef with anemone and a clam.
current stocking is:
2x occ clowns
2x banggai cardinals (bonded pair)
YWG and tiger
yellowhead jawfish.
firefish
Tank has sump (20-30g) with fuge and skimmer

wil be adding a fire shrimp at some point, and definitely more coral. (SPS, LPS, Soft)

What are good ideas?
I think the tank is too small for an angel, tang's are a definite no-go. Maybe a wrasse? pygmy hawkfish? small puffer?

Fairly recent FTS. week or so old.

sorry, forgot, have a firefish already ;Facepalm.... i'll edit the post.
Actually, I just counted up your fish. At adult sizes, you will have more fish than you probably should in a 40. Unless, of course, you plan on upgrading. ;)

it's definitely on the heavy side, but i suppose, worst case, if i can't keep up with the bioload, i'll just have to go bigger....... ;Hilarious

McCosker's are pretty cool, LA says they require a 55 though.... dang. wonder if a 40B would give them enough swimming area

A pintail would go insane in a 40, that seems inhumane imo. Go with a candy basslet.

The lubbocks is definitely a nice looking and cheap fish. But for a show piece a lineatus or pintail would look amazing and definitely stand out

i can't imagine evolved would say a 6" wrasse would be good to go in a 40 gallon tank

but i've seen pintails before and they definitely look longer than the 2.24" max size fishbase lists them as
