Okay I want to know what your show fish would be for your tank and why. I setting up a 240 and want to get ideals. Include.
tank size
Red safe
Pros & cons.
And pics for those of us that don't keep a fish. Database in there head.

Mine is my Blonde Naso, he's about 6" and in my 210g

No cons. He's like a big puppy dog that follows me all over the tank....

I love naso. And finally have a tank big enough for one. But I think I'm going to get a Achilles Tang. Fell in love with them and purple tangs. How's he do with your other fish?

He does great, I've got a Red Sea Sailfin and a Flame Fin Tang in there with him as well.

Achilles are incredibly difficult to keep. Even experts often cannot get one to survive more than six months to a year.

Mine is my Blue Face Angel. Got him when he was about 4" He's now 9+ and outgrowing My 180 rapidly. A Beautiful fish but a complete Terror to my Purple Tang .He's in a Fowlr. Never had him in with corals but I think corals wouldn't stand a chance.

Naso's have great personalities. Size is their only downside...he's a BIG fish. 210-240g is about the minimum I'd consider growing one out in. Even at that I'd try hard to have an upgrade for him when he gets up to adult size.

I think some good options are:
Large tangs
Large Rabbitfish
Larger Fairy wrasse harem
Group of cardinals or dartfish

That's the truth you see them when the only 3-4" big and you like wow that's really pretty only to take them home and grow up to be huge! Think hippo tangs fall into this Category also. sure when there dime size it's fine for a 55g but what do you do when they get around 6".... I know y'all are guilty

Saltgator you keep you regal in your reef? And you know you have to post pic or it never happen! Lol btw how close are you to Tampa I followed your build a few months back.

I'm about an hour and half south of you (cape coral,fort myers area). My regal has been in my reef for over a year. Sorry,cell pics.

You ever had a problem with him nipping? Or loosening cuc? Allways been told Absolutely no angles in reef.

No issues yet. Doesn't bother clams, inverts, sps,lps,z/p,softies. His biggest issue is his attitude to newbies. He lets everyone know he's second in command, but only a show of his fins,nothing more.

It's hit and miss with most angels. I'm planning all sps with very little lps and softies, so I'm gonna give a emperor a shot. Starting out with a juvenile to try and train.
With any fish in our reefs it can be hit and miss. I've been told of yellow tangs going coral crazy and eating corals. Basically, survival. I keep my regal fat so he doesn't look for a coral/clam snack.
