I tried this same idea last week. Mine didn't get any traction but it looks like yours didn't. Thank you for starting this thread. I think I have the worst so far. Wet 11/1/18.

Re-habing a very neglected tank.

GHA in full bloom....

Looks a little better since I took out and scrubbed all the rocks. Got a ways to go.

I spent five hours yesterday cleaning my tank. Removed my red hawk and blue dart fish (got credit at my LFS), scrubbed down some rocks, rearranged a few pieces of rock (I don't like anybody getting to territorial), and scrubbed down my glasswork. Cleaned my tubing (yuck!) and removed a bunch of empty snail shells (thanks to Albert, our Valentini puffer). 20% water change too. Once it all clears up, I will snap a pic!

I feel like I have been really lucky at this point....my green hair algae just starts and when my daily water change comes up every week it goes away within 2 days??? But I'm currently away from home for a week, hoping when I get back all is well.

My tank is just over 2 months old. Started on New Year's Day. Nuvo 10 with just the stock return pump providing flow for now. Had Koralia Nano 240 in there, but it just took up too much room and seemed to be too much flow. Thinking of upgrading return pump for just a little more flow.

Currently housing 2 clowns, 4 hermits, Zoas, Palys, Maze Brain, Favia, Acans, and 1 Monti. Some of these will be going to my wife's tank when it's done cycling.
