Put a ball or gate valve on the drain pipe/hose and adjust to slow down or "back up"... Mine is DEAD silent!

I cant do that then because I would need to slow down the pump which will hurt it wont it?

Something I did that worked fairly well was, cut a thicker kind of sponge into the shape of the top open part of the over flow, make sure the sponge fits snug. This reduced alot of my sound issues..

PS I use the phosphate reducing spong because it is really compact

I did not have to touch my pump at all, it just basically slows down the turbulence threw the pipes.....

Give it a try, a gate valve works best though..

Thanks Kelby that worked. IDK how but I just placed it in the drain pipe and it leaves my Emergency drain still untouched and there for emergency's.

Glad to hear that,I tried so many things on mine, valves, differant pipes, etc.,and the simple sponge on top did it. I guess it absorbs sound.

I think its what breaking news said. Instead of the water bouncing around it just directs down the pipe.

If the sponge is in the water, watch your sump throughout the day to make sure it doesnt drain or anything.

I would need a pic of that what is a bean animal.

Goggled it and got it ill give that a try if this fails, Thanks lee.

Your the man Darren, That Prevents all my snails from getting in my sump which ticks me off. Ordering one now.

The whole trick with drain pipes is having them up high enough in the overflow so the water don't fall and having the exit pipe in the sump like 1/2" below the water level...
