Count this as a showoff thread, show what you've been able to accomplish with a XLx36WxXH. I'm planning a large upgrade in the near future and am having a hard time deciding between 6ft vs 7ft vs 8ft, along with the height which I've narrowed down to somewhere between 20"-30" (quite the range, I know). I'm 100% solidified on the "Deep Dimension" 36" width though, so I'd love to see some of what you all have pulled off.

And if you feel inclined, what made you choose the length/height along with considerations or preparations for such a deep tank. Thanks! I'm excited to see what everyone has to share.

I was originally going to pick up an IM150 tank, but they were out of stock when I got my build started. I ordered a 48" x 36" x 24" custom tank from SCA (~180gal). I've only just got the rock and sand, and started filling with water. I really wanted to maximize swimming space and create a variety within the aquascape.

I had one before the current 250g.. I'll never go that deep again, what a pain in the danglers. Go for length

Edit sorry misread

@kenbennedy Love the scape man, what you've done with it is exactly why I want to go 3ft deep. So much room for swimming, feels a lot more natural to me.

Since I posted this I've decided on my dimensions, I'll be going with a 96"x36"x24" ~360g sitting on a 30" tall stand. So now more than ever I'm excited to see what other folks post!
