I’m looking for inspiration. If you’d be so kind as to help, I’d love to see:

1) Your aquascape

2) Your sump

3) A description of your lighting, filtration/sump set up, and any equipment you think I should know about

It's a Red Sea 750XXL, so close - but no cigar. It's lights out and I don't have any current pictures, but if you msg me a reminder I'll take some for you tomorrow.

1. Aquascape is all Marco rock - mostly shelf. It's very low profile and doesn't exceed 1/2 of the tank height.
2. Sump is the standard Red Sea v3 for the 750XXL with gravity-fed ATO and running 4x 100-micron filter socks. I have 2x MarinePure 8x4x4 media blocks and two packages of 1.5" spheres in the refugium area (no refugium).
3. Lighting consists of two XR30 G5 Blues and a single XR15 G5 Blue. Filtration is a Nyos Quantum 160 protein skimmer and two Nyos Torq reactors that run 2.0l of Nyos Zeo and 1.0l of Nyos Carbon/Phosi-Ex. Return pump is a Sicce SDC 9. I also have an AquaUV 57-watt UV sterilizer than runs off a Sicce SDC 7 pump. Flow in the tank is augmented with two Red Sea ReefWave45s mounted on either end facing inwards and two Maxspect XF330s on either side of the overflow.
3a. I run a full Neptune Apex system with 2x EB832 power bars, 2x AFS autofeeders, a Trident, DOS, DDR, PMK PAR kit and all the probes (including an extra temperature).
4. 33 fish (all peacefully co-existing), well over a hundred corals and dozens and dozens of inverts.

Full apex with Trident

I use the extension sump as a refugium (work in progress at the moment) and a 40g ATO chamber hidden in my pantry to the left of the tank… small water line runs through the drywall.

Only advice I can give is to get as big of an ATO chamber as you can if you aren’t using the extension sump for that.

Lights:
3 Radeon 30W supplemented with 4 T5 bulbs, 2 Actinic, 2 Blue and purple plus bulbs.

Basement sump with separate Algae Refugium
Bubble King 300 Skimmer

Full Apex System:
Controls LED and T5s
Controls Alk/calc
Controls top off and Kalk
Controls MG and KN03
Controls 2 gallon per day constant water change

Skimmer:
The bubble king takes so much nutrients out of the water I need to dose KN03

Circulation, twin Iwaki RLT 55 pumps. I used to have Tunze pumps controlled by the Apex, but have no in tank circulation at this point. Doesn’t seem to need it.

2) It looks like you have your reactors mounted inside the stand above the sump. Can you tell me more about that setup?

Need to clean the glass but I let it get a little green right now bc I’m having trouble getting algae to grow on rocks and my CUC have to eat lol

sump - bashsea ss60, lifereef skimmer varios 8 return, two 4K gyres and two Nero 5 (pumps obv turned down, but I wanted to be able to turn it into a whirlpool of wanted lol)

lighting… 62” long fixture, 2 g5 xr30 pro, 2 a360 and a g4 xr15 pro…

eventually it will house 3 or 4 xr30 but that can wait

The two lines coming down from the ceiling are water feeds from the tank overflows, they feed into two filter socks then into a sponge block.That was to remove bubbles, but turned out it wasn’t necessary. I just leave the sponge block in and it became a bio filter.

When I set it up originally I used one reactor for carbon, used to change about a cup a week. The other for GFO to reduce phosphates. Over time stopped using GFO, maybe once a month change the carbon.

The tank has matured and really needs no carbon, filer socks, nor GFO. I attribute this to using the oversized Bubbleking skimmer and constant water change. Dosing KN03 is necessary to keep the corals from starving and avoiding Dinos. What is not in the picture is I added another Apex pump for KN03 and MG. Also replaced the liter meter 3 with another Apex pump for the water changes. I love the Apex system, being able to control everything from a tablet is so nice.

Right now I’m just running carbon, but I got the dual reactor just in case I want to run GFO or something in the future. And yes, I mounted it on the internal panel of the stand. It pumps water from the the second chamber through the reactor and into the skimmer chamber. It was really easy to set up.

This is my 6' tank. I don't remember who made it. I have no sump, no dosers, no controllers. I do have a DIY ATO, a DIY skimmer and a DIY algae scrubber. About half the rock I collected myself through SCUBA diving or collecting, the rest I built. It is hollow and has a PVC pipe skeleton with a cement outside. It has been running for 51 years.

I dose calcium and alk and feed natural foods. I don't use any carbon or any other water conditioners and run a reverse undergravel filter. For the last 5 years or so it has a problem in that encrusting sponges are taking over a lot of the real estate and covered a lot of my corals, especially montipora and acropora. I have about 25 or 30 fish some almost 30 years old.

180g, 40 breeder sump, 4 165w black boxes, 4ft t5, 6 powerheads turning 18000ish gph, 36w uv and 9 w uv, aquamaxx skimmer, 1/4 hp chiller, ATO, 500w titanium ehiem and 300w ehiem. Pic is before a powerhead failure and the housing cracked. Definitely lost alot of pieces but not all and I am currently on the road to recovery and regrowth.
