I just got my first cyphastrea (jingle bells) and I'm excited to see what it does. I'd love to see pics of your established cyphastreas to see what I have to look forward to!

Not the greatest pic, but the growth shown crept off the edge of a little 3/4” frag plug that has since been knocked off by something and isn’t doing all that well. The growth onto the rock from the frag took about 3-4 months.

I regret starting this thread. Now I’m staring at my new plug cursing it for not growing before my very eyes!
Cyphastrea are a slow starter but one day you'll look in the tank and it's going to be triple the size and add new polyps each day.

Definitely make sure its in a place you dont mind it taking over! I just had to cover mine in kalkwasser paste to keep it in check :(. I love it but it just got to be too much in one place for my pico tank. It's been my fastest growing coral once it got going. I'm thinking about getting (or trading for) another variety and adding to the back wall though.

Picture is from over a month ago, and its amazing to see how much it had spread since then.
