I am interested in making a DIY reactor for chaeto for my 30 gallon nano setup. Anyone have good reactors they have made and don’t mind showing off?

I’m going to make one next month. I have a TLF 150 gfo reactor I’m turning into an algae reactor with chaeto. Next month I’m ordering some white waterproof led lights from Marine Depot to wrap around it then secure with zip ties. I’ll use the same pump I used for the gfo and see how it goes. I’m hoping to bump up the ph a bit. I’ll post in my build thread when it’s ready (it’s in my signature below). There’s a lot of videos online too that show how to do this.

Yeah I have seen a lot of videos on making them but I also want to make the reactor itself and not buy it.

I'm making one in a few weeks. I'll def post pics and all that when I get everything I ordered from Amazon.

Think with everything it cost me $40

What type of tube are you using
It's just a old reactor, I found it at a used saltwater equipment store for 30 bucks also came with the pump so I just bought the LED strips and started going to town.

Converted an old reactor with some tape LEDs.

Here is mine it dropped my Nitrates from 12 ppm to 2 ppm in week1/2. Used large phosban reactor. Not as “neat” as most but I have to empty this thing every 2 weeks

Thanks for posting guys. How did you like the one you made DEW vs the one you bought?
