I am looking at the Pentair 80w for my 330. Please show me photos of your large UV sets up!

How are you plumbing your UVs? I will have a hard time pluming directly to the tank, as my sump is behind the wall.

What pump are you guys using?

Thanks in Advance!

my UVB's are mounted vertically on the wall behind the tank in my fishroom. i use 3/4 id silicone tubing and a jeboa 10000 on the 80 watt and a smaller jeboa on the 40 watt. mine are plumbed from the sump and the 80 return to the sump across the sump bottom for flow, the smaller one feeds into a recirculating skimmer in the sump.

do you have any photos? Are you happy with the soft tubing? Seems like that would make life easier.

I have a 150w emperor for my 330g. I wanted to turn the tank over once an hour and kill ich. With this I can do that at 450 GPH.

I run the 80w on my 75g QT tank at 150-200 GPH.

Pump is before skimmer and return is past skimmer?
Pump and return are actually both in the skimmer section.....pulls from the left side and return to the right. The chance of sterilizing the same water twice is very minimal due to water moving through the sump....no different that doing AWCs and pulling/replacing water from the same section.

very good point. I had been questioning this as well, but all the BRS videos say otherwise.

I will more than likely set up like you do

plumped in sump or direct to the return?
I run my the flow to the UV then to the Chiller then to the skimmer and back to the sump. Ideal would be a closed loop on the display and returning to the display, I just didnt have a space for the 6' beast of a UV near the tank.

Not huge but this is my lifegard 55 Watt. Pump it a quiet one I had laying around. Pump is in the first chamber where socks and skimmer are. It exits into the return chamber then back to the DT. It has only been running for a couple of months but I have never had water this clear before.

@14 foot reef Tell me more - please
That is my large AC pump control wireless control through home automation Control4 ( https://www.control4.com )
It is programmed through the main control 4 software with the pumps on float triggers in the reef to control overflow of the tank, the sump has float triggers also for low and high sump that will also automatically turn off dual MRC AC 6100 return pumps.
