I got one of Jared from RMF in March and its growing pretty nicely. Its the one on the right.

Is the picture upside down? I too have a piece and would LOVE to see other pics of it

i was kinda confused when Jverna said right because the middle one looks more similar to the matrix coloration wise but the one on the far right resembles more of a spathulata. it probably morphed colors in his tank

Am I the only seeing the picture upside down?!?! The fat one that resembles a spathulata is the red matrix and I'm seeing it on the left.

OP, do you have a picture that shows only the red matrix?

Maybe I don't really know what I am talking about, but my red matrix really has a metallic red shine to it. To me in my tank it is more striking than the blue matrix.

I dont know what im doing wrong because on my computer the pic is right side up.

If your looking at it upside down the one on the left is the red matrix (yellowish green body blending to red with blue tips) which I agree is definitely a spatulata. I took the pic with my iphone so its a little washed out. And if your looking at it right side up its reversed:wacko:

The one in the middle is the PC Superman table acro and the one on the right is the ORA yellow fuzzy.

Yours looks like the original mother colony which I've been lucky enough to see in person. Just amazing. What kind of placement is yours in? Mine doesn't have nearly the color yours does.

Thanks, it is one of my favorites. I have it close to the top under 250 watt Radiums.

Looking great!! Good to see it doing so well. This is one of my favorite acros of all time.
I'm still not 100% convinced that its A. Spathulata. The branches are skinnier and the coralites aren't as pronounced as they are in the true Spathulata's I have.

was it thinner when you first got it in? I had a spath that grew really thin branches from the thicker main branch so I'm curious.

Yep, the whole colony had thin branches. That is why I'm not sure it is a Spathulata. Definitely different than what I've seen in true Spath's.
