I haven't seen any of the feather starfish in a while. Any one able to successfully keep these? I had one a while back and it was gorgeous but didn't last more than 6 months.
Beautiful Feather stars are essentially NPS corals in terms of care and feeding. And not the easy to feed sun corals. [emoji53]
The food size required is tinier than most commonly available plankton.
Most will starve in a few months. [emoji53]
I've also got one of these purpley pink serpent stars and it's been completely reef safe for me. It's a good 18" across now. I also have a black brittle, pink teardrop brittlestar, and banded serpent star. I added so many as I had several hundred sun coral polyps and the excess feeding meant bristle worms were everywhere. I'm not against bristle worms but was fed up of being spiked so I added the stars and the bristles slowly got out competed.
