Show off those elegance corals!

I used to have a ginormous elegance:

Was definitely my favorite coral, but it got way too big. It had easily tripled in size in less than a year. It was placed in a low flow area and I always fed the fish in that same corner, so it got a good amount of pellets multiple times a day. I assume that's why it grew so large so fast.

They don't mind being together?

Not at all. I've never seen an Elegance that had any problem with touching another Elegance (and have put them with each other many times.)

Also often true of other coral species. But the catch is, sometimes two corals that look like the same species are actually just closely related, and therefore will attack each other. But Elegance is just a single species, so there's no worry here.

Thank you. One more question. They come on a three inch base. Is the head supposed to be elevated or should I bury the base so that the head is resting on the sand?

I put them in sand just deep enough that they're stable. I wouldn't have any actual soft tissue covered by sand. :)

this is mine it is starting to come back after 2 months is it normal for them to be in a bell shape?

That looks ok, as it's a small one. It should start having a more complex shape and laying down more as it grows.

Cool elegance and all but I am way more excited by that Fiji yellow leather! ;) Its actually yellow!
Any chance you have frags available? (sorry if people bug you about that all the time)

I wish. I think I gave that away when I moved back in 2003. They weren't too hard to get back then. I've been looking for another for the past 6 months.

Does anyone know how to get them inflated and flattened out? Mine is usually folded like a V but I always see pictures like ones in this thread of them fully flattening. It is also on the smaller side

So I have an elegance but it refuses to open up. What am I doing wrong?

i keep mine in mod flow ,mod light,,read your base ,see how was positioned while growing..

My huge blue rib Aussie elegance coral!

It’s for sale too. A bit to aggressive for my tank.
