I've been thinking about starting up another system or upgrading my current system. Thinking about getting more fish. Show off your broodstock system for all of us who need ideas or just sho off your system so we can see how awesome it is!

Here is mine:
20 G long divided into 4 chambers
20 G tall sump.
Bubble Magus curve 5 skimmer
BRS Bio-Pellet media reactor
30-50% weekly water changes
Thinking about adding a 5" DSB to help with bacteria and reduce N03.
This is a small system, but works well! I have 2 pairs of Helmet Picasso, Plain Occy & WW
Sorry for the glare. This photo was taken months back when I just set it up.

Awesome setup man! It looks very neat and organized. My racks look pretty ghetto, haha. I’m hesitant to show mine but here you go. The tub in the corner is a makeshift larval rearing system I put together, which made all the difference in the world as far as keeping ammonia zeroed out and nitrates hanging around 10. I don’t have to do as many water changes, and has improved my mortality rate.

I have a BIG hatch going on all this week. You can see from the pic that they are all different sizes but all from same nest. The eggs are laid over a period of a week, so new larvae pop out every day of the week. It’s a lot of fun and I have developed a passion for aquaculture and breeding marine ornamentals, including shrimp. Peppermints are possible to raise in captivity by just using a ten gallon tank.

Sorry, I should have posted that differently instead of replying to first post. I’m just going to re post my system here. This is my first broodstock system. It’s very simple. I put it together using used equipment and materials. I have a 50g sump with a slimmer and sock. I also keep my heater and UV sterilizer under there out of the way. I’m still working on it and it doesn’t look pretty like the first post. I want to get something like that! I am involved with the Reef-Pi community, where members are making their own customizeable tank controller. It’s a big learning curve but Ranjib is great with helping you with your build. I will have my own ReefPi build thread started soon. I encourage anyone that likes to tinker join the community. The more ideas we have the better the system. Right now I’m working on getting the camera up and running for streaming video to monitor things.

I have 4 pairs of clowns, some you saw in my first post. Here is another pair.

I don’t have any expensive clowns yet. Hopefully when I trade in some of my Blennies for another nice pair of clowns but a little more expensive. Also in the pod you can see my larval rearing system. Thanks for letting me share. I’ll leave you with this cool video. This is my larval tub presently. As u can see, there’s differences in age by a gen days. The smaller ones just hatched tonight and there’s a ton more that will hatch tonight! I also have a thread, “Breeding the Striped Blenny”. Pretty cool pics.
Thanks for letting me share!
