With that said I mean your mangrove reef tank or sump ;) and what do you do to keep them thriving?
Some use sand, others use miracle mud, a few use live rock rubble.
What kind of light do you run and flow?
As they are different mangroves which one do you grow or maintain?
Do you keep mangroves mainly to reduce the nutrients in your water or are you keeping a mangrove habitat?

It would be awesome to have a shallow tank like above with like 20 springerie damsels in there.

I'll play along here's my set up...
Walt Smith mud covered by a layer of sand and then a layer of rock rubble.
Light is a EnviroGro T5 4 Ft/6 Tube

Ok enough, stop playing :p
Get these beauties a awesome reef tank and I'll send you 20 Springrie Damsels

6 months old. Miracle Mud base with sand on top. Spritzed weekly with RO water to keep the salt off of the leaves. Low end sump LED, but they get some exposure from the Kessil Purple over my chaeto macro algae. I used mine as Cyanobacteria defense based on articles I have read.

I have some growing in a separate tank right now but will have them plumbed into the new system. :) I love them!

You are all shaming me to where I now feel I don't put enough pride in my mangroves.

:)....... You got to start somewhere, and by doing so you getting somewhere ;)
At least you got mangroves going and THANKS for showing them off.
You might get some great ideas if more pics and statements are posted to be better and better doesn't need to cost a whole lot, you can take that from me.

This is a second mangrove tank I just started. Will sprout by months end. 24" 4 6500k bulb light from 5am to 10pm. Currently freshwater and will slowly convert to SW next year.

Is it better to start from fresh and slowly to salt and if so why?
Is that miracle mud in the first pic?

Yes, mangroves grow quicker in FW as they use up a lot of energy with salt.

Not technically miracle mud, but it is live mud bought off eBay. About 12 pounds.
