The fact that I have some alive SPS is my success story! 
I never had much luck with my old tank 10 years ago, but so far I have a couple of Montis and an Acropora.

Here are a few frags I got that were ugly ducklings but eventually took off. Sorry for my lack of photography skills.
Picked this one up from ASD. Seemed a bit browned out at the time.
This is what it looks like now. It has a plum body with yellow tips and red polyps.
Another I picked up from ASD it was labeled Rainbow Dragon.
This is what has turned into. Reminds me of the UC Bali Shortcake. Colors are a bit dull. Pink body with blue ends and yellow tips.

Here is one from UC
Hard to tell the color but it has a green base with pink branches and white polyps. Resembles some variants of Strawberry shortcake at times. It has been a pretty aggressive Acro. It encrusts and kills just about anything I put it next to. Had to frag it several times.

This guy started off like this. My urchin would "help" me locate it all over the tank. Many times I couldn't find it for a week at a time until he brought it back to the front of the tank.
In time that little frogspawn got to heavy and the urchin was complaining about his back so he put it down.
I don't remember how long ago that was, but now that little frogspawn is about 10" across and is here near the right of my tank.
(I just noticed this thread was about SPS corals so make believe that is an SPS because it took me a long time to find those pictures)
So forget that frogspawn. All those montipora grew from a tiny 1/2" piece that I accidently found in a bag with something else.
