Tangs are the reason I got I to the hoby, and the reason I stay in. I like to keep and watch them grow so they keep me upgrading tank. From 45 gallon to 180 and already planning future upgrade.

I was finally able to get another yellow tang yesterday from a member of my local reef club who was breaking down his tank after mine died about 1 1/2 years ago or so suddenly. the first few hour or so they chased him a bit and flared their fins so i turned off the lights early today they are all buddies swimming together

Get that poor baby some food. Congratulations on your yellow tang

All about 7 years.

So end of last year, I lost yellow 14 y o yellow tang to nothing that I can think of, looked healthy, ate the night before. Then , found him wedged under a rock dead in the morning. All other fish were and are still doing well, at approximately 15 years. Oh, I also lost same aged royal gramma beginning of this month. His Jaw was locked in open position for months and I knew I was gonna lose him. Here pictured dead yellow tang in my hand, his last pic with tank mates, and my purple tang, the day he managed to get a rubber band around himself. I netted him and got it off.

We have a purple, PB, blue, and Tomini Tang. All get along really well and keep the bullying to a minimum. @ellies_reef

All of your fish seem to be rather small - How big is the largest?
