Show off your Tangs

Hear that sohal tangs are super aggressive? Same as the clown tangs? True? Thinking of getting one but have several other tangs already.

They are. I have a clown tang now that I have had for 5 or 6 months and was fine but is getting more and more agressive. He is going after my sailfin tang and my blue throat trigger quite a bit now. I need to get him out before he gets worse.

IMO they don't hold a torch to powder blues and are exaggerated immensely regarding their aggression. They are definitely one of the most aggressive tangs but the same two stories reverberate on forums as 40 members repeat them. Proper statistics aren't available but I've had two neither are as aggressive as my purple, one of my meaner Achilles, my powder blues,or even a few other odd balls.

IMO the biggest concern with sohal is how fast they grow. They get enormous and get that way VERY fast. I've had my most event sohal 4 months and he has grown 1.5"

The more tangs or fish to spread aggression, the less it will be a problem. I have several tangs. That said, you need the space and absolutely SUBPERB top notch nutrient export (filtration skimming etc).

A sohal tang kept with only a few fish will be much more likely to fail miserably.

Such beautiful tangs in all of these photos! You all should be proud. I had a few yellows, a sailfish and a hippo but my hippo is the only one that lasted. Unfortunately i found the sailfish tang to pick at some of my wellsos and lobos
