Curious if you guys could help. Sold to me as a juvenile orange shoulder tang. I’m having my doubts as his face is turning grey. Is only about 1.5in. Love the little guy though.![]()
Gratz! I love my powder brown even though he can be a jerk sometimes. Beautiful fish!My new guy in qt.

Thanks guys. I tend to agree with you. Either way it will be fun to watch him grow and see how he changesThere are many tangs that are yellow when juveniles. This looks like a Kole juvy to me. Orange shoulder would typically have a dark patch where the orange spot is on adult. I could be wrong. With face turning Kole is my guess!
Yep! Plus look at the rings around the eyes. Thanks guys. I tend to agree with you. Either way it will be fun to watch him grow and see how he changes

@4FordFamily what is wrong with this picture?
Two regular sized sailfin tangs?@4FordFamily what is wrong with this picture?
Juvenile bristletooth tangs are really tough to ID. I am not comfortable saying this is a juvenile Kole because of the overall shape of this one’s fins (more squared off like a two spot bristletooth) and the forked tail (again, something seen on two spot, tomini, etc). There are many tangs that are yellow when juveniles. Look at BHT tail. Look familiar? Two regular sized sailfin tangs?
