The blue lips are found singly or in small schools around upper parts of reef slopes over inner and outer reefs rich in coral growth in Western Pacific waters. They feed on algae and Juveniles are semi-yellow, gradually changing to orangey brown but always keeping a yellow ring around eyes. They may be hybrids as they have some characteristics of a Mustard Tang
Length - 16cm

Our tangs :
Ctenochaetus strigosus pair & Acanthurus fowleri

The fowleri is a relatively recent addition but very sociable and will be upgrading our aquarium to a few thousand liters for him in the next 1-2 years as he grows

I'm not really sure I understand that last comment.... you are suggesting the mustard tang, from the genus Acanthurus, is hybridizing with what exactly?

Meant freckled faced tang. Very high resemblence

Your fox face is stunning, same colours as mine, like a bleached magnificent, I think people call them metallic or satin. :)

Thanks! He does go darker/more contrast at times. You can see some pics of him like that on page 2 of my build thread. I haven't been able to get great pics lately cause of the dang copepod bloom making it look like it's snowing in the tank lol.
