About to set-up a new Quarantine Station.
Interested in seeing how others have theirs set-up. Please post pics and a description of your set-up including:
  1. Quarantine Tank Size(s)
  2. How many ?

  6. Anything else you want to share

  1. Quarantine Tank Size(s): mine is a 20b from dollar/gallon sale a Petco. I don't keep it running, only set it up when planning for new fish.
  2. How many ? Only the one
  3. Quarantine Tank Filtration Method(s): Aquaclear HOB with filter foam and carbon to clear up medication (I keep the foam block on my DT's sump
  4. Live Rock or PVC: only pvc and and a plastic castle. No live Rock for me, too scared of the die off creating an ammonia spike
  5. Routine treatment regimen when you get new fish and/or coral: observe the fish for a couple of days until it's eating, I start with prazipro for 2 weeks.. give them a break, then copper.
  6. Anything else you want to share

Do you keep the same live rock in your QT tank each time you have to QT or do you refresh and replace the live rock after each time that you have to medicate sick fish ?

I have three setup all 10g. One I keep running full time as an emergency qt tank. It's pretty bare. PVC pipe heater and an in tank filter. I keep it cycled by dosing ammonia. I have two others that i setup when needed. Used them for TTM new fish and medicate before putting into the full time qt tank for additional time before going into dt. Those are as well PVC and heater but don't use filter just an airstone. They aren't in long enough during TTM to need cycling
