I am interesting in "seeing" what others have done to clean up the cable/wire clutter under their tanks.

So, if you're a cable guru, "show us" your pristine cable management.

Here u go!

Dave, nice one I use to wire up cabinets for the Navy.:) An I am in electrical cabinets all day at work so I like the White look as it is a standard for electrical cabinets for a reason it helps you see.:)

Thanks for the examples and inspiration.

Wrasseluver, nice before and after pictures. What kind of pumps are those in the first after picture?

Dave, where did you get the cable runway?

Here it is all neat without anything plugged in, and before the covers; it's a wee bit messier now, but mainly because the shelves are piled with stuff.

And the sump space:

i got a cheap cabinet from walmart:

Purchase the Mainstays Storage Cabinet, Alder at an always low price from Walmart.com. Save money. Live better.

the back was just cardboard, so i was able to easily cut holes in to route lines. then i used a hole saw to knock out some holes in the side wood for additional equipment routing.

finally i took a spare shelf that came with it, and used it to mount my controls and such to. then mounted it at an angle inside the cabinet.

you can see the shelf here being measured for mounting and having the holes drilled for running cable:

here is the finished product. this is just the top half. the bottom half will be covertly housing a saltwater mixing station, but that's not finished yet.

everything is held on the board with wire tires. it was the easiest way to securely mount them. behind that panel is a freakin' rat's nest of wires. but it doesn't matter, because no one can see it. ;)

I gave up. I change out equipment and change my mind too much. Whenever a fellow reefer comes over they are far more interested in what's in the display than how my wiring looks. I've never heard a complaint about my 32 unorganized outlets in eight years

Duane,

is that how many outlets you had? :)

I knew you had more than mine, but wow.. lol

and you are correct, didn't care about them, was more interested in the technology behind the tank.
