Show us your Gobies!

Wow that’s a beautiful tank! 9 fish is my dream number for my max nano, people really overestimate how heavy the nano fish have in terms of a bio load.
Now riddle me this behavior - last 2 days the neon goby has taken a liking to the pinkbar goby and pistol shrimp’s hole, and is picking up sand and is seemingly helping the pistol with his hole. The downside is it is keeping the pinkbar from coming out too often. Super strange.

I have a theory that since the neon goby (his name is Mr Blue) is despised by all the other fish because he tries too hard to be friends and clean them, that maybe after all that rejection he has decided to see what being a pistol shrimp might be like. Has to be it.

Haha, I’ve seen some of the weirdest gobies that you never thought would do this go and help out a pistol shrimp. I’ve never understood why they do it either.

Also since I may be coming home with the new guy today I’ll drop a bigger hint to what it could be.
they’re similar to mandarins in which they mainly eat live foods, they have a completely different way of moving and have a long dorsal spine which helps give them their name.

Picked him up a few hours ago, he’s now in the tank (After a good hour-1.5 hours of fighting a shrimp into moving tank). Here’s acclimation since he went into the worst spot ever in the tank.

Here’s where he hid in the tank - I may leave the frag “rack” he’s under in the tank for a few days and see if I want to leave it.

Oh man, you can tell this goby has been around humans for a long time. Most of them will hide for a few days but this guy is out quite happily even with me making sudden movements. He’s used to it, been in the LFS since June 4th 2021. Look at the colours! Please ignore the black spots, I’d rather not startle him with an algae scrubber haha.

Gunna bump this with some Griessingeri photos. He is definitely acclimated to be calm around humans. I lifted up the drag rack he was on (Moved the coral to their places on the rock) and he just went to find a rock and continues to scurry along the sand bed in the caves completely ignoring everything else.

My Griessinger scared the crap out of me yesterday, He was MIA the whole day which isn’t normal since he’s usually out and about climbing over everything. Then found out the little b****rd picked a nice hole in the LR. Me and Karen00 have been researching and she found out that these guys love to hide in small crevices and gaps in the rocks.
Here’s the crevice he hides in

and this is him out last night (I’m pretty sure he’s still out this morning)

dang that's a pretty wicked gobby! That's crazy looking love it! Mine has only one little spot he normally hangs out but I'm sure if I had some holes in my rockwork he probably would do the same!

I’m going to bump this thread with a picture of my Hectors and Black Clown Goby.

The yasha has vanished and my Griessingers isn’t out (Should’ve taken a photo when I had the chance an hour ago).

Looking good! Here’s a look at my guys - about a month in now with the mandarins and sunny the citron still eating frozen pods and frozen baby brine like a champ.

My nitrates are at 34ppm today - been a real battle figuring out how to feed mysis, frozen pods, frozen baby brine and phyto for the monthly pods. Everything seems happy though and no algae issues (knock on wood). Needing to make dang sure these mandarins get fed is a bit of work but soo worth it.
