I've had these guys for about 3 months now, so they're not exactly new, but I'm new to R2R, so I wanted to show off my predators.

1) Dwarf zebra lionfish

I love your preds FeliciaLynn, I wish I could have a snowflake eel so bad, but I have an open top tank.

Oh yea, amazing pictures of them too!

Thank you! This is my first time branching out into the predator side of things and I'm really loving them! The snowflake has a ton of personality! My tank just has a DIY screen lid with 1/4" BRS clear netting. It fits nice and snug onto the rim of my tank and keeps the eel in :)

I have and open top and my snow flake has been in there for about 10 months with no issues at all, never leaves the cave long enough to escape, pops his head out at feed time and has to be quick before the niger trigger and harlequin tusk eat all the prawn.

I know. I was being silly. I'm not about to try and remember all the fish I've had over the last 8 years.

Can you take a look at my signature? The lion usually stays upside down in the cave and the leaf stays outside of it, but I'm thinking I wouldn't have room/hiding for the eel?

I could add a little pvc in the cave...

In my personal experience, the eel will find a home, mine stays in between rock work, not always in the cave, the harlequin basically owns the cave. But although they say 50g tank is big enough, I wouldnt do it. Im upgrading to the 300g 4x4x2 with huge sump so all my fish have plenty of room, not "just enough" room. But thats just my thoughts

I don't have that much rock which is my major concern.

I might add some more rocks to the corners and some pvc.

The more rock work you have the more the eel will feel safe and be visible. I know how wierd that sounds but it is true. My biggest concern with your tank would be to make sure your lion or leaf didnt slurp it up like a noodle. Unless you got a adult size snow flake.

It makes sense...I really need to think it over. If you think tang police was bad; I'm that x100. Part of me thinks a 50g cube is just enough for a leaf and fu lion. Maybe in the future I can have a eel, I love them so much!

I would for sure have a larger tank. a 75 would work with those 3 fish. I have a large zebra eel in my 75 and he alone is enough to send my phosphates over the edge. My little fuzzy is in my 30 with my newly aquired banded cat shark and skeletor eel. Waiting on his 40 breeder to be made.

My cousin is in the hospital from a Lion fish encounter. Going on his 4th night in there.
