Show us your Rubbermaid sump.

Yes the bigger models are more round than oblong. Using this kind of sump takes room to use. I use them because they allow me to have a ton of water volume cheaply. Water volume is key to a bullet proof tank.

Thinking about getting the 100g rubbermaid stock tank for a sump. Do you all recommend replacing the bulkhead with something like this or something else?

If the floor is level then this should sit level. Mine sits fine on the floor. I have heard of some people putting a few 2x4’s under them to keep them off the cold concrete floor though but I didn’t do that.

i've been going through the threads where people are using these for sumps. Certainly sounds like a good idea. I could see using 2x4, and then shim the 2x4s between the concrete and floor. I certainly have the room for this, For now, I'd have the rock, skimmer, and heaters inside of it. I've read that you don't need baffles. If there are air bubbles, people are using foam in front of the return pump. I'm just talking to myself about these things.

I wonder how hard it is to find them without drain plugs already installed.

I use 1/2 of mine as a fuge with chaeto in it. I use eggcrate with foam in front of it. Keeps the chaeto on one side, helps control any bubbles that might be in there.

I built a entire system with 150 gallon Rubbermaid. Worked flawlessly.

Do you have any dividers in that sump?

In general, if you were to add dividers, how do you keep them in place?
No it's a DT. I drilled holes in the top rail to install a fence made out of screen. It's very thick plastic. You could attach rails on the top to install dividers. Silicone bonded well to it. Lots of diy ing with this tub lol.

I am curious if anyone has found a bulkhead that will fit in the hole of a 100 gallon stock tank other than the one it comes with. The way the tub is molded brings the bottom very close to the edge of the hole. the stock bulkhead is square on the inside so that isn't a problem. I am using the ones that come with the tanks but they are well glued.
I used 40 gallon and 100 gallon tanks to make a 2 chamber sump. The bulkheads in the 40 are in the bottom.

what method can be used to make a mark / line inside the sump so you can manage the loss of water due to evaporation? I will be topping my system off with fresh RODI, directly into this stock tank. In the past, I had a glass sump so I could easily make a mark on the outside of the glass to determine how much water was lost. Obviously something to mark water level that is water safe and won;t come off.

I do not want to do an ATO, so doing this manually is best for me.
