I have a really annoying issue with show vlamigi going on. I have had him for 14 years. Not until six months ago did he get Popeye. I tried every antibiotic under the sun until I used bactrim which cured it. Well, it's back, and this rime bactrim hasn't kicked it, I am going on my seventh treaent in QT, aside from changing diet indont know what to do. I have kanaplex and both maracyns but none did it in the past. Am I best to just put him back in the tank? Right now it is half as swollen as it was at its max. Thanks

Without pics, hard to assess but sounds like it confined to one eye and may have stemmed from light injury or gases within the fish.
Maracyn AKA Maracyn 1 which is ethromyacin will be the treatment. While Kanaplex will address popeye, maracyn will address the eye in whole

O yeah, this system is FOWL and has a sterilizer on it, but he is in QT now
Pictures and/or a short video would really help. In some cases, Mycobacteria sp. cause exophthalmos in fish as one of the symptoms. That chronic issue is not treatable and only some fish will be compromised by it (usually older fish).
