Classklown90 can you tell me more about your set up? It looks very similar to what I am working on. Is that a bean animal overflow and what return pump are you using. Looks very clean.

Thanks. I have a build thread on here somewhere. Its a herbie overflow. Main drain is horizontal and the backup is 45 degrees in case the first fails and the water rises too high. Super quiet. Two drilled returns fed by an rio pump. Mag are too loud for me and ive never had trouble with the rios

Is any of this relevant to the post!!! Come on
Actually it is a thread on 40 breeders so I would like to see what size sump he is using as well as his filtration. That is like saying that all of that isn't relevant to a tank. If you just want to see pictures I'm sure there is a 40 breeder post in the Photography section.

Careful apparently this isn't the place to ask questions about the equiptment used on these nice 40 breeders just to look at the pictures. Come on Jk

Here's my 40 :0) I am in the process of breaking it down and transferring to a 90 gallon. I needed more area for corals !!!!

Just wanted to point out two things not trying to be negative but...
1. That candle on a stand right beside your tank...Thats not a good idea in fact it isn't even a good idea to burn them in the same room or use any other fragrance emitting elements in the rooms with tanks.
2. Also I think it is time for your MP10 to get a cleaning you aren't getting anywhere near what you should out of it looking like that and they twist apart nicely for easy cleaning (I use toothbrush twice a month).

If you had a crash in this tank I would expect it was due to that candle though but in this picture everything looks happy even that really nice colored red goni! Was this a new sand bed or is this your original sand bed that you cycled with?

Thanks. However, have been burning candles next to my tanks for the last 20 years or so --- never had an issue, let alone a crash. Currently have 3 tanks, once on each floor -- there are candles within 10 feet of each. All are doing great.

The MP10's have the sponges over them --- IMO, a requirement for any tank with anemones --- that is what you are seeing.

The sandbed is original --- just gravel vac it with each water change.

^ I also see that you have a hang on the back overflow box I would like to not only see an updated picture of this tank but see what your working with in the sump as well...Just curious

This tank (( and my other 2 tanks )) use a 20 long as a sump.

This is the sump when I first set up the tank -- about 3 years ago. The skimmer is now an Octopus, and there is macro algae in there.

Not much yet but I'm only 3 months in. Love the dimensions of a 40 breeder though.

Sorry for the delay. That is a Photon 24 from Reef breeders. I just ordered a 48 inch to go over my 90 gal. I have had good results with the light. The colors are nice. It doesnt grow corals as fast as a MH, but Im in no rush :o)

Great tanks! This is my next size so I love looking at everyone else's.
