I have it about 9 months ago and I dont have any branch yet. For me this is a slow grower Acro.

Yeah hopefully in the next decade...... ATL's piece is void of all branching so they just frag off of the encrusting portion. Kind of sucks looking at an acro that resembles a reverse sunset monti.

You gotta wonder if people have this acro to enjoy it or to sell it. I mean if no one has a full colony of it...yet frags (meager encrusting dimes) are available for purchase? seems strange.

I guess stores have to sell but I never understood how some hobbyists get so tied up into the fraggin and selling aspect that they never have any largish colonies.

Also you gotta understand that coral growth is exponential....so in the end it pays to grow a large coral before you start fragging.

I couldn't agree with you more. I hate being in a LFS where all of the SPS frags are tiny encrusting bits. I don't mind watching frags grow, but IDK if I have the patience for something like that.

I love fragging my large colonies. Everything regrows quickly and people aren't getting super tiny frags.

I still have mine, super-slow grower. I think it was hindered by my temp and salinity issues. It's actually beginning to show signs of branching up now that those corrections are being made.

Mine is trucking along doing fine, growing very well. Frags, even small chunks seem to fair really well too. On my Mother the color could be better on the base but it needs higher light than I can give it. Polyp color and the tips are popping as they should be though.

Some terrible Iphone pics I just took:

Had mine about 6 months and it's about the size of a nickle now:clap2:. Up from the near dime I bought if that. Everything about this one just amuses me.

Very impressive. I hope mine takes off like that soon! It's been a very hardy coral. Definitely one of my favorites.

What's amusing, the slow growth? You get it from ATL?

Thanks Logzor! I agree, pretty hardy for sure. I just sent out a small frag of it and it was the favorite of the bunch for the guy who received it. The coloration is insane when it's peaking.

Nah just the whole allure of it. I can't really explain it. Maybe it was just this thread that drew me in long ago when it first popped up. . It's just funny to me really.

Mine came from atlantis. I also have the Northstars clath that I got from Justin P years ago. It took forever to do it but it's looking amazing

this is a pretty bad pic but here it is anyway. I think it's just that I am a big fan of clath's1smile1

^^^Is that the northstars or the red polyp from ATL? I'm guessing thats your northstars being that you said your ATL was a nickel in size lol. The color is what it throwing me off I guess. My northstars is pink/purple and finally doing something for me after being stalled out forever.

it's the northstars. This one has just slowly krept into something really nice looking. It too was blah and bland and did not grow for a long time. I have had it almost three years now. Maybe more. I really like the way it's looking.

my red polyp is literally a near 3/8th inch flat circle on a plug. I am guessing I wont see a branch for at least another year:sad:.

That looks great man! Hopefully mine will turn out like that; awesome coral for sure.

Any updated pictures of this one? I haven't seen a pic of the WWC colony yet. Have they posted one somewhere else?
