A bit of a whole project set up.
1.) Display Tank:
2.) Copepod & Phyto Tank - with a goal of a future Dragonet:
NOTES:
Display tank has been going for about 2 years and the Copepod and Phyto tanks have been a new recent set up with a goal to keep a future steady supply of pods coming in!
Corals include a few euphyllia, acans, candy cane, scollymia, gsp, cyphastrea, lithophyllyn, and a small frag of chalice.
Spray foam was used on the background of the display tank.
Water changes about 1 or 2 gallons per week and dosing “All for Reef” at about 3ml per day of late to help with parameters like alkalinity and calcium. Have been using “All for Reef” for the past year and a half or so.
I also dose “Vibrant” at around 0.50 ml to 1 ml per week. It is not that the aquarium looks like it needs it but I just add it to my routine maintenance. I also use the small Dr. Tims Waste Away gels on an occasion just to keep some sludge busting bacteria in the tank. The gels are more routine maintenance compared to the liquid in my opinion. They both seem to help me with algae as it is slim to none other than coralline.
“Knock on wood” but so far I’ve been having some success with the set up. I read a lot of the forms here on reef2reef and watched a lot of youtube!
Thanks for taking a read if you made it this far and happy reef keeping,
sincerely,
The Fish Tank Hobbyist
