Shrimp eating tangs

This doesn’t seem too crazy to me... I’ve gone through 3 cleaner shrimp in the last 2 years because my tangs eat them. I’ve just given up at this point. I saw it happen.

My yellow tang used to nip at the newly introduced cleaner shrimp way back. He stressed the shrimp so much and it died. It happened a couple occasions then after a few months I tried them again and it didn’t.

now I wish my shrimp naturally died or eaten by a ghost, I don’t care. I hate it as always crawl over corals and pick food from them, causing stress to the corals. My fire shrimp doesn’t do that

Never heard of tang eating a live shrimp. They are mostly herbivores but also like some small pieces of mysis, brime, etc. Live shrimp...hmmm...while anything is possible in this hobby...unlikely.

For some reason when I saw your title I expected a picture of shrimp eating your tangs .

Are you sure the shrimp didn’t molt and that is the old exoskeleton?

Me too!
